Dorn - Children’s Sweater

The sweater is worked top down in the round with two colors on the yoke.

You can use the magic loop technique for the neck and the sleeves but if you prefer double pointed needles, you can use those instead. If you are not already familiar with color dominance in multi-color knitting, it is advisable to search for information about this online before you start working on the yoke, since this is crucial for the look of the pattern.

Had to change the increase rows in the patterned yoke in order for things to work out right. Have just split stitches off for the sleeves and the front seems way bigger than the back. I've knit over a dozen sweaters, and this simple pattern isn't proving easy to follow.

Pru Holden

I found I had to change my increase rows in the patterned yoke to the plain row before the increase shown on the chart. This way meant I had the correct number of stitches for the next pattern row.

Elena

I had to change the count for the colorwork, since there were increases that threw the next row of patterning off. That was minor--when i divided for the front/back and sleeves I was left with one very large fron and one skimpy back. I undid it, tried again and got the same result. Not the first sweater I've knitted, so I am glad it's a free patter. I'm going to call it "Make it Up as You Go" sweater because that is what I am having to do.
