PATTERN INFORMATION
This coat is worked in the round from the centre back, and short rows are worked to shape the bodice down to the waistline of the skirt. The skirt is then worked row by row, and the sleeves are worked in the round.
There are no charts in this pattern, all instructions, including the lace, are written row by row/round by round with photographs, detailing gauge checks as well as more complicated areas of construction.
3 length variations are offered for the skirt to accommodate shorter heights than the example coat. Several parts of the pattern are worked together for all sizes. The pattern will direct you to skip to instructions pertaining to your size bracket. Sizes 3XL/4XL and 5XL use a 6mm hook for later parts of the bodice shaping, short rows, and skirt. The pattern will direct you when and where to change to this hook size.

I have not yet finished the pattern -I am now working on the first sleeve lace. I just have to review this right now. This is the most amazing pattern I have seen in a long time. It is not as complicated as it looks and it builds up incredibly fast. The instructions are super super clear and there are also pictures to show the tricky parts. Absolutely amazing pattern. I am making it in blue with the medium skirt and will also make a black one with a long skirt (depends how long the medium skirt will be once I block it). I will definitely post pictures when this is finished.

While the pattern is absolutely gorgeous, I had a few issues with it.
First, it was difficult to understand. I had to restart the pattern multiple times as I realized the directions were unclear, and further in would realize I had misunderstood what to do. I pulled out the first 15 rows at least 10 times before I got the hang of what I was doing. I should note, I prefer written patterns to watching videos in order to make things, so I am not a 'new pattern reader'.
Second, the pattern is ONLY a back piece going to just in front of the arms in the front. There are NO front panels to this pattern that I could find. I will have to do my own thing for front panels, which is such a let-down for an $11 pattern.
