Enchanting delicious color combinations dominate in Malaga Print which is balled up in a pullskein. Here you start with the innermost thread and use the skein from within. You’ll appreciate that the skein will lay still while you work - Rather than rolling around on the floor or in the bag.
The super soft and full-bodied acrylic yarn consists of four threads which all have a gradual color shift..
The four threads are twined together into one thread, and the color shifts “meet” at different places in the skein. It creates unique and unpredictable color combinations, making it different and fascinating to work with.
Malaga Print is a great choice if you don’t tolerate wool - it is soft, warm, and easy to handle as it can be machine washed.
Malaga Print is a premium acrylic, so it has been spun from a very high quality. This means that the yarn is processed in several steps, which may well be reminiscent of the processing of wool. Among these steps, the acrylic is combed, making it fuller and even softer. In addition, Malaga Print has undergone a Hi-Bulk process where the yarn is steamed during production causing a little contraction, resulting in a more comfortable, soft fullness.
We also have a single color variant of Malaga, that has exactly the same thickness and running length - so there are plenty of opportunities to play with colors and exciting combinations. Check out the link to Malaga on the top of the page!
The yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified (no. 2076-311). Find more information about the certification on the https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/
Please note that you get one skein per unit you buy. The image with three skeins is only to illustrate how the look of the skein can vary due to the long colour sections.

Got this while on sale in Flamenco and it is GORGEOUS. It's very soft and the drape is really nice. I used three skeins to make a very wide and long scarf. One thing to be careful of- the colors vary uniquely across every skein and not every skein will have the same color balance. One of mine was very red and purple, the other was much more yellow and blue, but they do still match very well.
First time ordering from Hobbii on a recommendation from a friend. So glad I did! Purchased the Malaga Print in 03, 06, 08, & 10, and followed Hobbii's Licorice Shawl pattern. Yarn is deliciously soft and smooth, works up beautifully on my crochet hook. Excellent quality and amazing colors, so different from what I see in the US chain stores. Will definitely order more.
Malaga "Mosaica" is one of the most beautiful yarns I've ever worked with. You never know what's going to happen with the subtle color changes. The yarn is so soft and such a pleasure to work with. I knitted a lovely pullover with it, and I love wearing it. I hope to see Malaga come out in lots and lots more color combinations.
I used this yarn for the first time and it is absolutely beautiful. It is soft and warm, unrolls from the ball beautifully and is amazing to work with. The finished product is my most favourite jumper I have ever made. I highly recommend this yarn
Got this yarn in Seaside to make the Licorice Shawl pattern with a while back, and I wasn't expecting it to be super soft and plush! It also ended up being surprisingly heavy when crocheted all together. The color transitions are very nice.
