Twirls is a brand new and fabulous  "cake-yarn" made from 100% soft cotton. The texture of this  yarn is 4 thin cotton threads which makes it perfect for shawls, afghans and scarves, where the long colour changes will come out perfectly.

Cotton Kings Twirls is available in many magnificent colour combinations and is presented in big luscious 200 gram balls with a meterage of approximately 800 metres. Shades 6-10 are the popular tone-on-tone colour changes and they change one thread at a time. This spreads out the long colour changes over the 800 metres of thread with a dazzling  result, crocheted or knitted alike. The cakes have an unusually pretty colour progression, where the nuances change from light to dark - or the other way around depending on whether you start with the inside or the outside thread.

Use the Twirl cakes for shawls and summery scarves, allowing the change in nuances to shine, in one long handmade creation. A pretty boléro, a summer dress or summer top, where it will give you a delicate dip dye effect, could also be just the ticket for both adults and children.

It takes about one cake to make one shawl or scarf.
Pro tip: Before you start working the Twirl cake, run all 4 treads through a small bead to help the threads stay together throughout the project.

Twirls is working up beautifully!! This is not like typical dyed gradient yarn. This is 4 ply thin thread merged together over time throughout the cake. Ex: For the Diamond the white starts out as 4 white strands. In time, 1 grey strand is introduced. Then 2 strands and so on until 4 grey strands are in use. The black is introduced the same way. This is a much nicer way to introduce the gradient colors as the color transitions are subtle and not as noticeable as the dyed gradient colors. The only drawback to this type of gradient process is the introduction/reduction of strands are not secured. They are twisted and do come untwisted. I found if I pull each end of the yarn taught and tie a mini knot in the transition strand I don’t end up with a defective end product. I have been back to Hobbi to order more. The yardage is perfect too. I was able to complete a large shawl with one cake. This is a win for me!! This yarn and the free gift put a smile on my face!!

The colors! I saw a skein of Twirls advertised through FB & I couldn't resist following the link. I bought two skeins (one for a friend and one for myself). When my package arrived and I finished dancing and opened it, I was hit with a wall of disappointment. The yarn was so thin! Like 4-strings-of-thread-thin. I gave a skein to my friend in the hopes that she would be able to show me how to use it without ruining it. When she offered to return the yarn back because it was too thin, the intimidation set in. If a seasoned crocheter didn't want to use it...I was doomed. Finally, I sat down and tried it. I couldn't let that go to waste. Granted I made some mistakes in my Virus shawl and there were some of the transitions in the yarn that was clunky. 100% totally worth it. I have never looked at a finished project with so much enjoyment and will definitely purchase more. #hobbiitwirls are my #newfavorite

The Cotton Kings Twirls was my very first purchase from Hobbii! Saw the add on FB and decided to give it a go. I'm in the US so didn't know how ordering from Denmark would work, but it totally did! The package took less than two weeks to arrive and Hobbii's customer service kept me fully apprised of the status of my order. I was surprised that my order came in two packages, but who cares? The yarn itself is colorful and oh so soft! It even has a "start here" sticker on the beginning of the cake! What a nice touch! I've got several projects in mind for my yarn. First and foremost is baby items I'm going to make for the soon to come bundle of joy! I got four of the Galaxy color cakes just for some colorful blankets and toys for the new one! Can't wait to get started! Thanks so much to Hobbii for such a wonderful product!

I love the Twirls King I just bought so much that I placed two additional orders, I now have 10 skeins in 5 different colors. I love that there is so much on each skein to work with, it is so soft ND very easy on my fingers and so easy to work with. The colors are very vibrant and not washed out and the transition from color to color is very nice. I really like that you don't have to dig for your starting yarn it is sticking out and easy to see. I love how this yarn works up and I will definitely be buying it again and again.
I should also say I live in USA and I was quite impressed with Hobbii only charging $6.50 for shipping. I could not believe how quickly I received it, it only took about 8 days.
I was so very pleased with Hobbii service and email updates.
THANK YOU HOBBII

I love Twirls. I have seven of them I different colours and some of them match the Twirls Deluxe or Color Bombs so the item you make can be even bigger using more yardage. I have a project in mind for for the Galaxy opal Twirl and matching Color Bomb, which might take some time but I am so looking forward to it. These yarns are so easy to use and work up so soft and being cotton they are quite weighty but light enough for beautiful shawls. I would recommend any of the Hobbii yarns for all sorts of different projects, from gorgeous shawls to wonderful summer blankets. Shipping to Australia is just under two weeks which is pretty good considering how far away from everyone else we are down here. I just can’t get enough of Hobbii yarns.
