This garter stitch hat and scarf set is knit on the bias, so you start with only a few stitches, increase, knit straight, and then decrease. The hat is then sewed together. The increase instructions are very unclear though, so I just did a make 1 increase instead. The pattern explains how to use only one skein of yarn, which is appreciated.
