If you will not settle for any less than the softest merino wool, then you will enjoy working with our Friends Extra Fine Merino

Merino wool is a great fiber to keep you warm, helps with regulating your body temperature during wintertime, and is completely itch-free. This means, of course, that it can be also worn by people with sensitive skin, including children.

The wool for Friends Extra Fine Merino is sourced in South America and is mulesing-free. It is superwash treated and machine washable at 30°C (cold wash), making it extra easy to take care of.

We encourage you to be creative with this yarn and try working it using a double thread (of the same or two different colors), but also to pair it with a wonderful mohair yarn to give it a fluffy effect.

Being extremely versatile, you can knit or crochet any kind of project with this yarn such as sweaters, cardigans, beanies, mittens, scarves, etc for adults as well as children, and any home decor that could use a cozy touch.

Do you want your next project to feel as soft as a feather? Friends Extra Fine Merino is the way to go.

Pro tip: Merino fibers are very elastic and might stretch easily, especially in larger pieces, due to the weight of the water. This is indeed normal for merino wool. We suggest not using the spin cycle of your washing machine, but instead carefully lifting the garment out of the machine, while supporting all parts, so nothing is left hanging. Then press the water out of the garment manually and without wringing. We also recommend drying our Friends Extra Fine Merino flat and making sure that no part of your project is left hanging to make sure your project will not lose its shape.

Note: Please note that a printing error has occurred on the label. The correct gauge is 26 stitches x 34 rows. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified (no. 2276-367). Find more information about the certification at the https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/

About the Friends family

The colors of the yarns included in the Friends family are literally friends!

This means the color numbers correspond to the same color across the different Friends yarns. If you order the same color number from two different Friends yarns, they will match. Please note that there can be slight differences in the shades from fiber to fiber.

Have fun combining and matching them in all your projects.

Wonderfully soft, the colours I received match the colours on the website, which is something I always worry about. Especially if it is for a gift. I purchased black, the dark grey (Anthracite), Pumpkin and Cranberry.

I accidentally bought this thinking it was a non-superwash merino worsted weight yarn, but I that was my fault for not reading the description fully. To remedy this I'm holding two strands together and I went down a needle size -superwash tends to grow- and so far my gauge is working out ok.

One issue is the yarfing. I chose to knit from the ball, which is what I usually do -I'm lazy and don't want to rewind my yarn for every project, especially if it is for a small project- but I STRONGLY recommend rewinding this yarn.

Well, I just received my first order today. Since it is merino I was expecting soft and beautiful...I just wouldn't imagine how soft and beautiful it would be. I chose my colors for one project in mind but now that I see the color in my hands, multiple projects are coming to mind. What you see is not what you get. What you get is even better!

This might be the best merino I have ever worked with! It is SO amazingly soft. And don't even get me started on the colours! They are so pretty: deep and bright! I can't wait to finish my projects in the yarn I just bought, so I can order even more in new pretty tones.

O.K. now I can review more than the appearance. This wool is divine. Easy to crochet, slide well and doesn't split like many. I can't wait to show you the result.

This has become my favorite wool yarn. Pure joy to work with! I love the navy blue and lavender colors. Ordering another 12 skeins!
